Recommend me some wireless security cameras?
Does anyone know if there are some wireless security cameras with motion activated recording, that would also let me record to an external hard drive?

There are several wireless cameras available that can sensor motion if the proper software is installed on your DVR (digital video recorder) or NVR (network video recorder). I recommend VIVOTEK cameras for their quality, reliability, and versatile configuration options.
To achieve the results you want, you’ll need a basic security system. If you already have a PC at home, you can use it to capture the footage. We sell several VIVOTEK cameras that include free NVR software that can be installed on your PC. Once installed, you can designate the hard drive you want to record on, including an external drive. If you need help with installation, we offer CCTV tutorial videos to guide you through the setup process step-by-step.
With the NVR software installed, you will be able to configure several different monitoring options to control your wireless camera, including motion sensor and alarm. If you already have the PC for capturing video, than you’re in luck and have already saved yourself some money. Our wireless cameras start at just under $200, which is a small price to pay for such high tech equipment.
Keep in mind that when using wireless cameras, they were not designed for long distances. You’ll want to have the camera within a 100 feet of the router for the best connection. We do offer accessories to increase this distance if needed. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our security system experts at 1-800-997-8460 for free advice!
